The queen flew far and wide, her quest was a hunt for a new home. She loved her castle by the sea. The gardens, the dragon and the secret that had not revealed itself, held special place in her heart. She wanted some different; a new place to explore.

Her ravens spoke to her about a place they saw. It was dark and a little bit creepy. The queen smiled for it sent shivers up and down her spine. Another castle but alas!! This one was occupied and she was not going to uproot the beings from it. It was their home and she wanted it to remain that way.

The Queen saw a lot in her travels and she knew that there would be more to see and show. but that will come at another time very soon.
The Queen flew with her ravens while the Butterfly Maiden walked the castle in her stead.

The Maiden smiled as she walked, the panels of her dress fluttering behind. All Hallows Eve was behind her and and then…she saw something. She blinked and looked again. What was it?

The Butterfly Maiden blinked once more. But it was gone, like one of the faeries that chattered and laughed in the garden.
She frowned and then she smiled because after the harvest feast, the season of reds, greens golds and silver would be here. The walls of the castle would sparkle and glow with banners and mistletoe.
Christmas Is – Lizzie Kate
And outside on every door a Christmas wreath of tinsel, ribbons and bells. Pine cones drizzled with snow welcome all within the castle walls.

When would the Queen return? She flew with her ravens far and wide. For now her castle was safe with the Butterfly maiden and the dragon.
Dressed in a gown of blacks and greens; she was a queen of ravens and dragons.

Her castle shimmered and glistened in the sun. It stood and guarded the entry into her kingdom. She turned and walked along the wall looking down to the sand.

The beach was empty except for a shell or two. The dragon had flown off. But the Queen did not worry; for she knew he would be back to play.

He flamed the drooling bloody march of the dead as they arose from their graves. For now the castle was safe again…
High above the white waves that crashed upon the shores a shimmering speck came closer and closer. It was a curious sight to the people on the wall of the castle. They wondered and watched. What was up there and why was it getting closer?
And then a flip of a wing, a snort of fire. It was a friend who hadn’t been seen in these waters in a very long time. In fact he had flown away to go play in the clouds!
Little Stitch Joan Elliott
Little Stitch was a bit blue he was chilly and cold all from his adventures among the stars. He dove into the pink white sands that blanketed the castle. He rolled and played. Little puffs of sand and smoke filled the air.

And as he played; he discovered something…It was a secret and as a dragon he was great with secrets. It was a new start; a second one for July 17. But as dragons are he wanted to keep it all for himself. So he tucked it under his wing.
Little Stitch snorted and winked he loved secrets….
As the little ship plunged through the darkness still shaking from the chill of the ghost, a thump and a growl was heard. Clicking paws the wolf leaped into the center of the chill. His jaws snapped shut and the ghost misted free to fly over the mast, away into the depths of the sea.
Dimensions Native Wolf #7934, May 11
Satisfied the wolf curled up in a fluffy ball on the deck and slipped into a guarded sleep, as the little ship sailed on.
Soon there came a cry “land ho!” and from the top of the mast came a leaping dragon. Wee and small he was but full of energy. The perfect one to set out and look afar over the waves for a safe port.

May 17, was special this year. It was a year of starts which also fell on my birthday. I saved a project for me. It was a birthday start, a name sake start and a year of starts project. I could not wait to start this one.
Robin Hood – Little House Needleworks
A wee bit blurry, but at the same time I believe that it adds a whimsical touch to the piece. I have been enjoying the Little House Needlework designs and my wish list is full of them.
Frederick has almost reached the one side, Irish blessings continues to sprout good luck through out the piece. My cup of tea is just a joy to stitch. I want to stitch them all!!
I am having fun. It is not a lot and for the most part I have stitched on the previous previous 17 starts : Frederick and Celtic Blessing . Here is April 17. Insert drum roll. (Sorry I had to do it!!)
Lizzie Kate Tea Crazy
There are 3 cute designs; and they are calling to be stitched. I could sneak them in for another addition to the 17s. Hmmm I will think about it. Next month I have a plan. It is my birthday on the 17th …. No peeking and I will never tell.
Today there will be two: Frederick and Celtic prayer. Frederick is my pride and joy. He is a lot of fun to stitch and he has only presented a few of the frogs. I think he had them for breakfast and that is why he is snoozing with the books.
Frederick the Literate Dimensions kit
He is starting to peek out. Hopefully Frederick will continue to keep the frogs away! And here is progress on Celtic Blessings
Celtic Blessings Joan Elliott
This one is another kit. I have a bunch of kits in my stash that are calling out to be stitched. This is a fun stitch as well.
And finally ‘insert drum roll‘ Frederick’s latest progress report
Note the needle minder. A magnet!
I can’t wait to start up on Frederick again. He is fun. I think a bit of back stitch is called for. He will begin to pop!
