The queen flew far and wide, her quest was a hunt for a new home. She loved her castle by the sea. The gardens, the dragon and the secret that had not revealed itself, held special place in her heart. She wanted some different; a new place to explore.

Her ravens spoke to her about a place they saw. It was dark and a little bit creepy. The queen smiled for it sent shivers up and down her spine. Another castle but alas!! This one was occupied and she was not going to uproot the beings from it. It was their home and she wanted it to remain that way.

He flamed the drooling bloody march of the dead as they arose from their graves. For now the castle was safe again…
High above the white waves that crashed upon the shores a shimmering speck came closer and closer. It was a curious sight to the people on the wall of the castle. They wondered and watched. What was up there and why was it getting closer?
And then a flip of a wing, a snort of fire. It was a friend who hadn’t been seen in these waters in a very long time. In fact he had flown away to go play in the clouds!
Little Stitch Joan Elliott
Little Stitch was a bit blue he was chilly and cold all from his adventures among the stars. He dove into the pink white sands that blanketed the castle. He rolled and played. Little puffs of sand and smoke filled the air.

And as he played; he discovered something…It was a secret and as a dragon he was great with secrets. It was a new start; a second one for July 17. But as dragons are he wanted to keep it all for himself. So he tucked it under his wing.
Little Stitch snorted and winked he loved secrets….
As the little ship plunged through the darkness still shaking from the chill of the ghost, a thump and a growl was heard. Clicking paws the wolf leaped into the center of the chill. His jaws snapped shut and the ghost misted free to fly over the mast, away into the depths of the sea.

Satisfied the wolf curled up in a fluffy ball on the deck and slipped into a guarded sleep, as the little ship sailed on.
Soon there came a cry “land ho!” and from the top of the mast came a leaping dragon. Wee and small he was but full of energy. The perfect one to set out and look afar over the waves for a safe port.

The ship soared over the waves through the plumes of water playing. She was sea bound but in another life time she was kin to the earth and soil. She played with the butterflies darting in and round the fields of flowers.

Abruptly the ship awoke, her galley was in a state of unrest. A spot of cleaning was due. A whisk and a flip of the mop and broom soon shined the the brass adorning her mast.

A new year a new plan and where is that going to take me?
I have revived one of my passions in the place of another . Last year I gobbled books. I couldn’t stop reading and my good reads challenge list grew enormous; and I burnt myself out on reading for the moment. I have not read or finished a book in a couple of months. My kindle sits idle and when I do turn it on the your battery is low please charge message appears in the middle of the screen.
My new passion: well, it is not new but rather like the reading something that has resurfaced. It appeared last year and the little line soared. HONEST he is almost done! I just have to finish his story! But any way something new appeared.
Ugg I should have edited the pic.
Meet Frederick the Literate. He is a Dimensions kit that has been hanging around in my stash for a few years. I have changed the fabric from black 14 count aida to an antique white 28 count MCG Textiles. BUT as I started to stitch I began to think this is smaller than 28 count. I pulled out another wip that I have on 28 count MCG textiles and the stitches were SMALLER! So I think that means I have another new out of the box adventure for me. SMALLER COUNT!
Do you want to see the beginning? Do you want to see more? I do have a finish idea for the little line but that means I have to get it out of the ufo rut that it has been placed into. I promise I will.
Once upon a time there was a little line that grew and soared among the clouds. He grew and stretched his wings. He danced with the stars, chased the raindrops over the hills and disappeared along the milky way.
He hid on the moon and etched out a bed, stars and clouds covered his slumbering form. A finger of sunlight tickled his nose, kissed his cheeks and
He woke up to soar among the clouds and stars again!
And he grew . His flights were stronger, and in a blink there were more little sparkles to chase. He dashed through the clouds racing and twirling. A trail of dust and twinkles trailed behind. He soared and twisted among the stars.
is for CROSS STITCH , and thank you Jacqeline for the idea!! Today I am taking the fork in the road from my story. But my reasoning is that CROSS STITCH just as important to my writing as any other distraction. I can drift off and think about the next perplexing problem that Jake is experiencing as I stitch away. It calms me down except when the frog comes to visit and his distinctive call of “RIP IT RIP IT” is heard and then I do get frustrated.
I have many projects and ufos (unfinished projects). A few that I have posted here and there are more that have not made it onto the internet. but yes CROSS STITCH is a very big part of my life.
This one is a free design from DragonDreams I follow her on Facebook and I just love her designs. I worked it on 16 count aida and it is actually a finish for me ! The Little Line story on the other pages I have been posting is a loved project of mine as well. It is a design called Magic Dragon designed by Joan Elliott who has a site here too!
With CROSS STITCH I can go on forever but…I won’t Enjoy!!
