17 and Stitch

High above the white waves that crashed upon the shores a shimmering speck came closer and closer.   It was a curious sight to the people on the wall of the castle.  They wondered and watched.  What was up there and why was it getting closer?

And then a flip of a wing, a snort of fire.  It was a friend who hadn’t  been seen in these waters in a very long time.  In fact he had flown away to go play in the clouds!

Little Stitch was a bit blue he was chilly and cold all from his adventures among the stars.   He dove into the pink white sands that blanketed the castle.   He rolled and played. Little puffs of sand and smoke filled the air.

And as he played; he discovered something…It was a secret and as a dragon he was great with secrets.  It was a new start; a second one for July 17.  But as dragons are he wanted to keep it all for himself. So he tucked it under his wing.

Little Stitch snorted and winked he loved secrets….

I am a bit late; and the next installment will be coming up very soon.  But that is a bit in the future.  So here is my June 17.

I had a hard time stopping so I continued on my journey and it just keeps going on.  There is a story in there but it hasn’t fully surfaced….

So I listen as the Raven Queen starts to walk along the top of the castle with her black feathered friends the ravens.

Maynia and beyond

As the little ship plunged through the darkness still shaking from the chill of the ghost, a thump and a growl was heard.   Clicking paws the wolf leaped into the center of the chill.  His jaws snapped shut and the ghost misted free to fly over the mast, away into the depths of the sea.

Satisfied the wolf curled up in a fluffy ball on the deck and slipped into a guarded sleep, as the little ship sailed on.

Soon there came a cry “land ho!” and from the top of the mast came a leaping dragon. Wee and small he was but full of energy. The perfect one to set out and look afar over the waves for a safe port.

Sand colored walls with a turret grew large and grand as the little ship sailed closer.  They were safe at last. A port that was guarded by a castle.

And to everyone’s surprise the little ship grew up; she proudly flew her sails to flutter in the warm salty air of the sea.   Her journey for now was over; but she was happy and looked forward to a little rest.

A whistle was heard along with the cry of “All Aboard” as a shiny engine pulled into view.  Another adventure was about to start.

And now the tale of the little ship has to close but she wishes you all good cheer and most of all good luck to all that you will achieve your dreams and goals.

Maynia continues….

The ship soared over the waves through the plumes of water playing.  She was sea bound but in another life time she was kin to the earth and soil.  She played with the butterflies darting in and round the fields of flowers.

Abruptly the ship awoke,  her galley was in a state of unrest.  A spot of cleaning was due. A whisk and a flip of the mop and broom soon shined the the brass adorning her mast.

Everyone has a mother and the little ship has one too.  She was created in a dream and she was an idea in the mind of her Mother.  She became a ship that soared and danced on top of the waves of the sea.

The wind started blowing again, and with it came the stomping of 8 sets of hooves and a sleigh.  Santa landed on the desk of the ship bringing greens, reds and  a bit of holly which was wrapped around the rails and the mast of the little ship.

And Christmas was halted by a transparent image sneaking its frigid path through the planks and walls of the little ship.  It howled and froze all who stepped in its way.  Terrified the little ship plowed its way though the dark waves.

What will happen next??? Will the little ship make it ?????

Mom (note this is very rough but enjoy)

She was careworn and sad.  Her dark hair flowed around her face, hiding secrets that were not revealed to the unknowing eye.  Jake saw them but somehow he always knew that they were there,  but he kept those secrets to himself.   He himself didn’t know why he never mentioned them to his brothers or father.  He also never told his mother either that he knew what she was hiding under her hair.

Maybe it was because he himself knew that there was something different about him as well; and to reveal his mother would also reveal that he wasn’t the same. But at the same time, there was that comment that he made last night at the dinner table that halted everything for the rest of the night.   And it was strange;  his brothers were both looking at him in a different light; that  maybe there was something that he himself was hiding from them.

He sighed and shoved the pitch fork harder into the dirty bedding of the cow barn.  The silence last night had continued into the morning with no answer to the question that he had asked.  Instead he felt that it had opened up a gaping hole between him, his mother and the rest of the family.  And the one that the silence hurt him the most was the sad look from her.

“Jake”.  he whirled around flinging the soiled straw through out the stall; and there she was his mother standing behind him.   Today she was wearing a light green blouse with a skirt that flowed around her form.   Jake saw what drew the others towards his mother; she was slight and almost as if she didn’t quite belong in this world.   Everyone always wanted to protect her and it got so bad at times that his mother didn’t go into town often anymore.   She stayed on the farm and the others took the lists of what she needed and got them  for her.

And now the flowing slight framed picture that was his mother was speckled with bits of straw and manure.   “Mom!” he dropped the pitch fork and ran the two steps to try and brush off the straw and sticky manure.

She brushed away his hands,  “Jake it is ok,  I startled you.”

And somehow he blinked and she was clean again, almost as if the manure and straw had never flown across the stall. But yet as he turned his head the pitch fork was still vibrating in the straw from where he had dropped it.

“Mom uh.”  He started to say,  he wasn’t much taller than she was but yet he felt like a giant beside her.  Maybe it was because of the constant chores that were required to run the farm or else it was something different, and somehow that felt like it was the better reason.  But…There were too many buts already.

“No Jake,  you need to know and last night that was a valid question, and I have been expecting it but not way.”  She put her hand on his arm,  “Come I will show you.”

Who are you? “snippet”

Jake whispered as he looked down at his plate.  “Mom where did you come from?”

The silence was complete, everything came to a sudden halt as the little family stared at Jake.  His brother paused in mid chew, the muscles of his cheek bulging with mashed potatoes, and his other brother just simply stared, too startled to say anything.

His mother looked at him, though he didn’t see her looking as he was staring at the little pile of green beans that finally gave him the courage to ask the question.  But he could feel the stare, it was almost grinding into his head,  and maybe he should let it in so that she could see what he was thinking, the fear that he would never find a place in this world,  who was his father, after all it wasn’t the man that shared a room with his mother.

His two brothers,  Both of them had been toddlers when his “father” took in a woman who stumbled half dead into the milk house with him large inside.  They had their father’s dark brown hair with differences.  Peter the older one had curls that were tamed only by the base ball hat he wore all the time.  And John’s hair was straight like his father.
